This event, held in an unusual location, commemorates the 100th anniversary of the 1925 Paris Exposition Universelle, and heralds the 2025 event to be held in Osaka, Japan.

This atypical space was chosen because it is part of Naturtejo and symbolizes a vision of the future to be built. The exhibition you are about to see here, with projected images shot at BioGaia, will be presented in the port ofUno, site of the Setouchi Triennale Art Festival, in the Seto Inland Sea – Osaka, which is hosting this edition of the World Fair, 100 years after the one in Paris.

Hiroko Kageyama, interior designer and artist, knows our region inside out, having organized several events combining hospitality, education, art and gastronomy, to which Armindo Jacinto, President of the Municipality, will return in his speech. She created these striking veils, depicting silhouettes from “La belle époque”, to establish a symbolic artistic link between the two events bringing together the Idanha Council and the World’s Fair.

Over the course of a century, the silhouette-paintings are highlighted in the dual natural context of Naturtejo, a Unesco park, and in the temporal context of the living remains of this property, which dates back to 1883.

Why this event in Idanha?

We should always be grateful for positive actions…. And Hiroko (and through her, Japan) is keen to recall the ties forged between Japan and the Idanha Council when 35 young Japanese, scarred by the earthquake in 2011, were welcomed to the Council. Este evento, realizado em um local inusitado, comemora o centenário da Exposição Universal de Paris de 1925 e anuncia a de 2025, que acontece agora no Porto de Uno, Osaka no Japão.

Este espaço inusitado foi escolhido por sua ligação com a Naturtejo e pela visão de futuro a construir o que ela simboliza. A exposição que está prestes a descobrir aqui, enriquecida por uma projeção de imagens filmadas na BioGaia, será apresentada no Porto de Uno, sede do Festival de Arte da Trienal de Setouchi, no Mar Interior de Seto – Osaka, que sedia esta edição da Exposição Universal, 100 anos após a de Paris.

Hiroko Kageyama, designer de interiores e artista, conhece perfeitamente a nossa região, tendo organizado diversos eventos que combinam hospitalidade, educação, arte e gastronomia, que Armindo Jacinto, Presidente do Concelho, abordará na sua intervenção. Ela criou estas velas marcantes, representando silhuetas de “La belle Époque”, para estabelecer um elo artístico simbólico entre os dois eventos que reúnem o Município de Idanha-a-Nova na Feira Universal.

Nesta viagem de um século, as pinturas em silhuetas são apresentadas num duplo contexto natural, o do Naturtejo, Património Mundial da UNESCO, e temporal, nos vestígios vivos desta propriedade, nascida em 1883.

Por que este evento em Idanha?

É sempre apropriado agradecer por ações positivas… E Hiroko (por meio dela, o Japão) faz questão de relembrar os laços formados entre o Japão e o Concelho de Idanha quando este acolheu 35 jovens japoneses traumatizados pelo terremoto de 2011. Mas passemos a palavra ao Presidente do Concelho, Armindo Jacinto.
